Account banned in error...gold restored?
My guild member's account is temporarily banned as ANET is saying he bought gold for real money. I didn't have enough gold on my account when I asked my guildie to buy lock picks for me to resell. He bought 860K worth of lock picks and gave them to me. After I sold the picks, I gave him back his money (800K+). This transaction must have flagged his account thinking that he was buying gold from me as he didn't give me anything in return.
He submitted a support ticket and is waiting for their response. My question is, when he is cleared, will he get the 800K+ back in storage? When they investigate the situation, it will clearly show that he had the money in storage, gave me the picks, and gold being given back. I'd hate to think that he's out of 800K because he was just trying to do me a favor. Thanks in advance! |

They [Anet] is causing more problems trying to solve this Gold-Money problem then actually fixing it. Now no doubt that buying Gold with real money is against their rules, but there method of trying to catch these people (banning people that have made huge money transactions) isn't solving the problem.

My account got banned today, and I have no idea why. I have submitted a ticket, and am waiting for a response. I can't remember EVER doing anything that could be considered against the rules. I just hope I didn't get hacked

I'm in the same boat...I got a response asking for my account name and 1 character name. I sent the info and it's been 3 hours. I am scared for Katherine, Mariko, Chou and Nedaa...I have had them for years (youngest about 1.5 years), and losing them would be murder for me. I miss them so much already, I was just updating the game for a moment and when I try to log back in I can't. It's so horrifying...I miss my girls so much. I hope everything turns out the best for the two of us!

Unfortunately we can't say one way or the other will happen - this is a fan site and we have no authority over what happens in these cases. This is completely in ANet's hands - I'd just follow through with the support ticket that has been submitted. You might want to ask them about it. Best of luck.
